Old Business; Clay target committee needs new launchers. Existing ones are 0 yrs old and no longer
working well. Cost is $6800 including remote launchers and electrical wiring.
Funding approved by the board paid from clay target account savings.
New Business; Friday 8/8 and Saturday 8/9 possible Muzzleloader shoot. This will take up the entire
rifle range during this time per John Mankin. Mention of tree removal from top
of berms on pistol and rifle range to facilitate addition of new dirt and
maintenance of berms. John mentioned he can get a commercial wood chipper for
$700 – $800 a day to take care of trees and some of the deadfall in areas. We
can then use the mulch for landscape maintenance. Mention of new property
insurance policy by Tom Hughes.
Clay target: New skeet throwers should
arrive next week. Also working of our next order of clay targets.
Next 5 stand shoot scheduled for 2 Aug at
10:00 – 1300. Cost is $5.00/round. New shooter training following the event.
Last month’s event was a success. Gopher shoot scheduled for 8/9 at 0800. No
other gopher shoots until Feb due to hunting season.
Mention of restrictions of shotgun
patterning on upper pistol range: Only the target at the far right may be used
for patterning shotguns. ONLY slugs and buckshot may be used at this target as
bird shot will damage the targets and possibly the target frames. Birdshot
loads may be used at the targets adjacent to the gravel road to the lake
parking lots;
